I have to create — there are no alternatives
On Saturday, November 8, 2025, Andreas Dienert returns to the gallery with his second solo exhibition, Interlude.
Andreas Dienert is educated at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, and the University of Gothenburg (Academy of Music and Drama). His works are held in private collections across several countries, including Switzerland, Germany, France, Luxembourg, and the United States.
His first solo exhibition at UMA in March this year was a clear success, with all works sold.
"It's incredibly rewarding. I've noticed that my work is especially appreciated in Southern Europe, and interest is growing quickly here in Sweden and the Nordic region."
Working primarily in oil, Dienert is known for his distinctive texture and original visual world. When jazz legend Miles Davis was asked in a 1989 interview if he would still play even if no one was listening, he answered: "Sure. Because I love music. It's in my head. I can't get it out."
"It's the same for me. I have to create - there are no alternatives."

Lördag 8 november 2025 är Andreas Dienert tillbaka med sin andra soloutställning på galleriet, Interlude.
Andreas Dienert är utbildad vid Willem de Kooning Academy i Rotterdam, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst i Wien och Högskolan för scen och musik i Göteborg. Hans verk finns hos samlare i en rad länder, bland andra Schweiz, Tyskland, Frankrike, Luxemburg och USA.
Andreas första soloutställning på UMA i mars i år blev en succé med samtliga konstverk sålda.
- Det är otroligt roligt. Jag har märkt att min konst uppskattas mycket i södra Europa och intresset växer snabbt här i Sverige och Norden.
Andreas Dienert arbetar i olja och känns igen för sin karakteristiska textur och originella värld.
Jazzlegendaren Miles Davis fick i en intervju 1989 frågan om han skulle spela även om ingen hörde honom, och svarade "sure". "Because I love music. It's in my head. I can't get it out."
- Det är likadant för mig. Jag måste skapa, det finns inga alternativ.
